Accessibility

Our Commitment:

National Leprechaun Museum is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status:

We are committed to delivering digital accessibility for all users and this website has been developed in line with recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These standards have guided our approach to design, content, and functionality, helping us create an experience that is as inclusive and user-friendly as possible for everyone. We will continue to maintain and enhance the accessibility of this website as part of our ongoing commitment to digital inclusion.

Non-accessible Content:

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

  • Perceivable

Input buttons must have discernible text
Forms and inputs have properly associated labels
A third-party audio widget renders input buttons without accessible text. The widget output cannot be modified to add labels or accessible names.

[role=”img”] elements must have alternative text
All non-text content has a text alternative
Decorative Lottie animations automatically inject role=”img” without an accessible text alternative. Due to the way Lottie.js renders these elements, this cannot be amended manually.

  • Robust

All page content should be contained by landmarks
Site functions correctly with assistive technologies like screen readers
Google reCAPTCHA v3 injects third-party content outside of the page’s semantic landmark structure. This injected markup cannot be edited or controlled.

  • Story Page Exemption
The Story page is exempt from this accessibility audit. This page was intentionally designed as a highly animated, interactive experience and was built over three years ago without accessibility considerations. The technologies and implementation used for this interactive section do not conform to WCAG 2.2 standards, and retrofitting accessibility would require a full redevelopment of the experience.
