As you know, in Ireland, the supernatural Otherworld is never far away. It lies beneath a seemingly peaceful and beautiful landscape, just beyond our vision, but ready to reveal itself when we least expect it. Or unknowingly stir it to life...
In ancient Ireland, Halloween (originally Samhain) is the beginning of the new year, when the veil between our world and the otherworld of the Sí (Irish fairies/spirits) is at its thinnest. A time of reckoning when debts are settled and the spirits move among us...
Following last year's sell-out success, the National Leprechaun Museum will once again come alive with restless spirits of Halloween.
Take a journey, if you dare, into the dark otherworld of Ireland... a journey through time and space, light and dark, into a world of superstition and frightening reality.
Enter a world of hostile fairies, dark spirits, michievous púcas and maevolent Sí-ógs... A mysterious, frightening and sometimes deadly world lying behind the thin veneer of the world we know.
On the site on an old city morguem beside a disturbed cemetery... Come and relive some of the stories that inspired a worldwide obsession with Halloween.
What was said about Halloween at the Leprechaun Museum last year...
“a dark and winding journey through the more macabre side of Irish mythology… the perfect location to be immersed in ghost stories and tales of banshees…It’s a tremendously fun way to spend an evening at this spooky time of year,”
Culch.ie
“This is most decidedly not a jolly haunted house for the kids: the stories are laden with gore, sex and mystical rock'n'roll.”
Dublinculture.ie
“an atmospheric show exploring the darker side of Irish folklore”
MetroHerald
“the acting and storytelling were fantastic… Dark Stories is an entertaining and enlightening show that tells you the roots of Hallowe'en”
